Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Estimator/Estimator to join our team in our Leicester Forest East Office (LE3) serving our Structures and Testing and Geotechnical Departments.


Our ideal candidate would have 2 to 3 years experience and a have gained a broad knowledge of the construction industry in particular highways, highway structures, buildings, civil engineering and geotechnical engineering.  We are looking for an Estimator or possibly an Assistant Estimator who is looking to progress their career in this field.  Consideration would also be given to candidates who have studied a relevant qualification and is looking to move into industry.  Relevant training will be given to the suitable candidate through a structured programme.


Skills & Roles

  • Good maths and English is essential.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and/or alone.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Proactive and can use initiative.
  • Pricing of Bill of Quantities (B of Q’s).
  • Completion of tender documents.
  • Pricing to Government and Public Internet Portals.
  • Sending out tender enquiries for subcontractor services.
  • Reading and understanding drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
  • Mainly office based but with some and some site visits required (Clean Driving Licence).
  • Delivery of tender packages to clients and following up tender submissions to tight deadlines.


Conditions of Employment

  • Salary will be based on experience.
  • Hours of work – 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Leave entitlement – 20 Days per year.
