Contracts Manager

We are looking for a commercially focused Contracts Manager to join the Senior Management Team based primarily in our Leicester Forest East Offices.  This critical position within the Nicholls Colton Group is to support our operational teams on projects ensuring our contractual obligations are delivered in line with client requirements and expectations.  Whilst this role is office based there is a requirement to visit sites and client offices..

Experience and duties

  • Experience within infrastructure/highways sectors would be advantageous
  • Project cost analysis
  • Experience of running multiple projects
  • Ensuring a high level of quality and compliance with standards throughout the delivery of projects
  • Ensuring any changes to contracts are agreed, priced and formalised
  • Maintaining good relationships with clients to help secure future work

Contracts Manager Role Requirements

  • Ability to produce, control and manage budgets for individual projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assist/develop others in this area
  • HND or degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or project management
  • Good level of programming and conditions of contract (NEC, ICE etc) knowledge
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills
  • Clean Driving License

Due to recent expansion and increasing workload we are looking for Site Technicians to join the team in our Geotechnical and Construction Materials Department. This position is based at our Leicester office however will require site visits within the UK.

Experience and duties will include:

  • Ensuring that site sampling and laboratory testing is carried out to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency
  • Ensuring that adequate and proper records are kept and filed correctly to satisfy the requirements of the Laboratory Management System and UKAS requirements
  • Ensuring test equipment is checked, cleaned and calibrated and functioning properly
  • Experience within materials testing, CBR, plate bearing, concrete testing and nuclear density testing would be advantageous, however full training will be given
  • Experience within a construction materials, soil and aggregate sampling environment would be advantageous

Site Technician Role Requirement

  • Full Driving License
  • CSCS card would be advantageous
  • Good oral, written and numeracy skills
  • Weekend working (this is job dependent and not guaranteed every week)
  • GCSE grade C or above in maths and science (or equivalent)
  • Computer literate
