Macmillan cancer support fund raising

Macmillan Cake Sale at head office!

Staff at Nicholls Colton baked an amazing array of snacks and cakes this morning, as part of MacMillan’s World Coffee Morning, raising funds for those facing cancer.

Lemon cakes, coffee cakes, Jaffa cakes, shortbread, chocolate gnash, Victoria sponges, spring rolls, sausage rolls, somosas and many, many more were home baked and brought in to the office for all to consume with appropriate gusto.

Particular praise and thanks to Nicola, Emily, Lindsey, Rach  and Ness who did all the organising, and much of the baking.

And a well done to our star baker – James Gane!! His Showstopper comprised a multi-layered chocolate sponge shaped in intricate detail in the form of a train. Well done James!

Chairman Alex Warwick, who that very morning had completed a 6 week period without carbohydrates and specifically sugars, confirmed his delight at being able to end his diet in such a spectacular fashion.

“I’m…..” chomp, chomp….”delighted” said Alex.

In total, Nicholls Colton staff ate their way through £205 of snacks and cakes. A cheque will shortly be sent to MacMillan. Well done, all!
