Chairman Alex Warwick said, “We are proud to support the recognition of excellence in sport across the county and in particular the high standard of junior sportswomen and sportsmen that we have here in Leicestershire”.
Nicholls Colton include in their ranks a number of young athletes who have competed at the top levels, as Juniors and in some cases also as Seniors. Fran Clayton played for the Great Britain Water Polo Team at the London Olympics; Danielle Elliot has represented Great Britain at Water Polo World Championship level, and Michal Rybnikar and Jordan Elliot have both competed in European Water Polo Championships.“Junior sport is extremely competitive and I am amazed how many high calibre athletes there are in Leicestershire. The dedication and work ethic of these youngsters underpins the development of our National and International programmes and I am proud for Nicholls Colton to support this award”, said Nicholls Colton CEO Ian Elliot, who himself coaches Junior and Senior Water Polo on the National Stage, and is the Manager of the Water Polo Management Group who manage the sport as part of the English Amateur Swimming Association .Many of the staff at Nicholls Colton are involved in sport, with participation in marathon, triathlon, swimming, tennis, cycling, rugby, running and even obstacle running (to name but a few) events taking place regularly, both locally and nationally, and often in aid of charity. Nicholls Colton Group is currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary in business, and sees support of this award as its recognition of the importance of the local community who have worked hard and continue to do so, providing the strong platform to succeed.
