Jordan Elliot scores a hat trick in England’s win over Scotland!

Our sponsored Athlete, Jordan Elliot, was instrumental in England Water polo’s 9-4 win over Scotland this weekend at Ponds Forge.

Jordan grabbed the games first goal from close range early on after a quick breakaway to give England the winning start they were after:

Shortly after, Jordan scored his second for England. Some slick passing around the outside gave the strong forward room to shoot and he didn’t need asking twice:

England ended the first quarter 2-0 up against Scotland, Jordan Elliot’s two goals separating them.

The second Quarter was an almost equally one sided affair with England racking up three more unanswered goals. Dan Paddon, Ryan Padbury and Jake Vincent all finding the back of the net to build on an already dominant performance.

Scotland found their first goal just before half time with a brilliant long range shot from Chris Campbell. England lead at half time 5-1.

It was Scotland that came out of the blocks fastest at the start of the third quarter. Josh Brown shooting from 2m to beat Englands goal keeper and close the gap slightly on England.

But England responded well, Tom Curwen increasing the lead again with a strong finish on the left hand side despite some strong Scottish defence:

Not long after Jordan Elliot found himself in possession on the 2m line and capitalised to score his hat trick and take England’s tally to 7.

England captain Rob Parker scored before the end of the quarter and the hosts went into the final quarter 8-2 ahead.

Just the one goal for England in the final quarter but it was a terrific solo effort from the captain Rob Parker. Scotland got two back before the end but it was too little too late. England won the game 9-4.

We’re delighted for our sponsored athlete Jordan Elliot for his hat trick performance in England’s win over Scotland and we congratulate the rest of the England squad on their fantastic result.
