Increased Geotechnical drilling capability

With the New Year delivery of a Premier 110 series drilling rig our Geotechnical team, lead by Kevin Willfratt, continues to increase capability with the addition of the latest window sampling rig.

The flexibility of the new rig has already seen it out and about working on numerous sites, extending the options that our engineers have for investigations.

Window sampling is a common and widely used technique to bore through shallow soft soils to investigate the substrata in order to gain knowledge of the ground conditions.  Our rig is ideal for most site environments including inside buildings including limited headroom or in outside in exposed or difficult terrain tracking over difficult land conditions.

This new rig supplements the exiting site investigation services provided by the company,  including Cable Percussive and Rotary boreholes, Dynamic Probing and trial pitting.

Chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing of all samples is undertaken in our accredited laboratory in Leicester.  For a full list of our UKAS and MCERTS accredited activities please click here.

Our experienced crew are keen to get out onto more sites. For any enquiries please contact kevin.wiffratt@nicholls-colton.co.uk
