GCM Site Testing Services Manager

Nicholls Colton Group is a multidisciplinary company providing a range of services to the construction industry throughout the UK. These include geotechnical & geo-environmental investigation and consultancy, structures and pavement investigations and inspections, in-situ testing and sampling, drainage surveys:  we also operate our own UKAS and MCERTS accredited Laboratories.  

Due to expansion of the Group an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Site Testing Services Manager to join our Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing Department.

The position will be responsible for the day to day management of the site testing operations offered by this department; preparation of project documentation and reports; liaising with customers to understand their requirements and meeting  their expectations; managing, supporting and developing the site teams and inputting into the development of the department. 

The successful person will have:  

  • A degree in a construction related discipline plus  least 3 years experience in a construction materials testing role; OR has at least 5 years experience  in a materials testing role and can demonstrate competency.
  • Excellent  knowledge and understanding of construction materials and  the relevant  sampling and testing techniques
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in managing small teams to tight deadlines.
  • Clean UK driving licence to allow site visits and client meetings.

Salary: Competitive Salary depending upon experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week with some weekend working

Holidays: 25 Days Holiday plus Bank holidays
