Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing

Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests are usually undertaken through 150mm diameter core holes or within trial pits to determine the in-situ California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values in accordance with HD 29/08 and the TRL penetration / CBR relationship.

Penetration is recorded after each blow and penetration measured up to a depth of 1.2m or refusal as defined by HD 29/08.
