Crack Survey and monitoring

Crack Survey and monitoring

Crack survey and monitoring is used when cracking is observed to the surface of a structural element, this can be due to numerous causes including movement of foundation, corrosion of embedded reinforcement, material failure, chemical deterioration or adverse loading being applied to the structure.

Nicholls Colton can survey a concrete structure to determine the extent of cracking present, crack width measurements being taken and if required, ‘tell-tale’ gauges applied which allow on-going monitoring of the structure with reference to an increase in the severity (width) of cracking.

Drawings of crack patterns can be provided along with photographic evidence and results of ongoing monitoring if carried out.
