Asbestos

Asbestos Investigation Services

Asbestos is a word synonymous with fear. Used extensively in the UK in the 19th century, asbestos is a naturally occurring substance which when processed contains fibrous strands.

Three main types of asbestos were used in UK – blue (crocidolite); brown (amosite) and white (chrysotile’). The colours are however misleading, as the type of asbestos cannot be determined visually – analysis under a microscope is required.

In accordance with HSE Regulations (CAR 2012), the analysis of samples for presence and type of asbestos is undertaken by Nicholls Colton Group’s fully equipped *UKAS accredited testing laboratory No. 0320.
