A visit from St Helena

A visit from St Helena

Nicholls Colton Group was pleased to welcome a visit from 7 students who had travelled from St. Helena.  After a brief overview of the history and services of Nicholls Colton by Operations Director Mike Shelbourne the group were given a tour of the LE1 facilities by our laboratory managers.  The tour was organised through the links that Nicholls Colton have with Stephenson College and the students were accompanied by Awar Nkole from the college.

The group had journeyed from the remote volcanic island which took five-days by boat to Cape Town, South Africa before making a flight to the UK.

The visit to Nicholls Colton was part of several organised by Stephenson College as part of a new partnership with Enterprise St Helena a statutory body linked to the St Helena Government responsible for tourism and the economic development of the island.

The beautiful St Helena Island.

Upon completion of their portfolio and assessments it is hoped that the learners, who are all construction professionals, will be able to utilise their new skills and knowledge to further aid economic development on the island.

In addition to their construction related visits the students have also been taken on a number of social visits across the county including a trip to the King Power Stadium for a Premier League Game where they saw Leicester City beat Crystal Palace 3-1.
